Socrates Cafe In-Person
When was the last time you had a really good conversation with someone in-person? Come engage in some delightful discussion and congenial chit-chat with friends you haven't met yet at the first Socrates Cafe event at the Paso Robles City Library. The theme to be discussed at this first meeting will be "What is the good life?"
In a day and age characterized by hyper-partisanship and rancorous online discourse, the art of civil conversation is long overdue to make a comeback. For those who would like to sit down and discuss the things that they believe make a life worth living with their neighbors (and maybe learn a thing or two in the process), this is your opportunity. Named after the Greek philosopher Socrates, this event is designed to give participants the opportunity to learn (or re-learn) the skills necessary to explore ideas both critically yet amicably with fellow members of their community.
Registration is required. Please register each family member individually. This class is for ages 16+.
