*PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION OF THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED. IT WILL BE HELD IN THE EOC ROOM AT THE PUBLIC SAFETY CENTER (900 PARK STREET).
Investing in real estate is one of the best moves you can make financially, but in today’s challenging market, how can people realize the dream of owning their first home or selling their current home to find one that better fits their needs? On January 15, 5:30-8:00 p.m., the Paso Robles City Library is pleased to welcome several local real estate professionals to explain just how you can successfully buy or sell a home in today’s market.
Finding the money for a down payment and financing to purchase a home can be the biggest hurdle to home ownership. Real Estate Broker Kim Rivas (KD Capital Mortgage Corp.) will provide information about down payments, interest rates, and determining what you can afford. Selling your home? Kim can provide you with information about moving from one mortgage to another, including bridge loans.
Once the financial piece is in place, your realtor becomes an essential asset, acting as your advisor as you select and make offers on properties, determining what your current home’s value is, and what is the best path to selling your property. Realtor Michael Rowan (Century 21 Hometown Realty) will discuss how the real estate process has changed over the past few months for both buyers and sellers and will give both sides of the contract process.
You want to be sure that the ownership of the property is transferred to you legally and properly. Escrow Officer Christine Kelley (Placer Title Company) will explain the escrow process from both the buyer’s and seller’s points of view to provide a complete picture of what is often a complex process.
When selling your home, it is important that your home look as attractive as possible to the potential buyer. Pam Lopez (Eslo Homes) will give you ideas for improving your home’s appearance and the advantages of using a home staging company.
Finally, if you are purchasing a home, you will need to secure home insurance which, in California, can be a challenge. Insurance Agent Gregory Byrne (Farmer’s Insurance) will explain the ins and outs of insuring your home, including types of insurance available.
If you are considering buying or selling a home or just want to learn about the process, let our local professionals provide you with the essential information you need. Registration for this event is required. Space is limited. Please register each family member individually. This class is for ages 16+.
